Cultivate Your Relationship with these Spring Date Night Ideas

Everyone loves a good list now and then, right? I can only speak for myself but I sure do, especially if means getting some help on thinking of new date night ideas. Hey, it is finally warm and sunny this week in Indiana so I thought I would pass along some great ideas for you and your favorite person. Enjoy!

Stargazing Date Night– We just did this in Florida so this is fresh on my mind. She loved it. The good news is you don’t have to travel far to enjoy one of the most magnificent views Earth has to offer—the night sky! What is great about this date night is that if you have little ones, they are probably going to be in bed already, so you can enjoy some time with your partner without all the distractions.

You can make it even more interesting by downloading a night sky app and see if you both can identify some constellations and visible planets. Not only is it beautiful, stargazing can be very calming and romantic. Be sure to turn your porch light off and any bright lights inside so you can get as much visibility as possible. Snuggle up and enjoy the expansive view!

The Spring Picnic – What’s Springtime without a picnic date with your spouse? Like the stargazing idea, you probably don’t have to go too far to enjoy this date night idea. If you’ve got a lot going on, it can be as simple as packing up a few things and heading out on your deck or heading to a local park you both love.

Whether you pack a simple lunch or create a gourmet picnic spread together, this is usually a big hit!

Pick a New Trail to Explore – If you both like a challenging hike, try to find a new trail you haven’t explored within a one or two-hour drive from your house. There are many hidden trails that are waiting to be explored, it’s just a matter of finding ones you have missed. A great place to check out walking and biking trails is https://www.alltrails.com

Pack some provisions, dress for the weather, take some fun selfies as a couple, and enjoy trailblazing an adventure!

Day Trip – For most of the U.S., Winter ice and snow is finally starting to melt away for good, and I know many of you are probably still recovering from the cabin fever of the long winter. A day trip is the perfect date getaway to reconnect with your spouse and enjoy blue skies and warmer weather.

Whether your trip centers on leisure, shopping, exploring new cities, visiting a historical site, or catching a music fest, planning a day trip can help you both connect and spread your wings at the same time.

Start a Garden – One or both of you may have a green thumb or maybe gardening isn’t really your thing—whatever your view on gardening, I encourage you to cultivate a space and plant something special together. There is something about the dirt and planting seeds to watch them grow that can put a new perspective on almost anything. Plant vegetable seeds, a small tree, or flowers you pick out together. You’ll enjoy this time and watching your things grow through the spring and summer months.

Make your date night simple or make it really special; either way, I hope these 5 date night ideas will inspire you to set aside some extra time each week to enjoy it with the one you love. Remember a great marriage or any relationship for that matter, doesn’t just happen on its own, you have to cultivate it.

I’d love to hear in the comments below if you have any unique ideas I’ve missed. What do you like to do once it warms up?
