Startling Update on Military Suicides and What Centurion's Watch is Doing About It

Good morning,

I hope you are doing well and enjoying your summer.  My kids are going back to school this week, which is hard to believe.

You might be unaware of this but in 2012, Army suicides are outpacing U.S. deaths in the Afghanistan combat zone. From Jan 1 to June 3 of this year, 136 troops died in Afghanistan; over the same period, 154 service members across the force killed themselves-just shy on one per day.  According to a recent USA Today article, it was reported that the leading trigger for soldiers ending their life was relationship breakups.

My not for profit organization Centurion’s Watch (CW) was formed to help reverse these trends.  CW is leading the charge to bring hope to military couples by giving them a Biblical perspective on how they can have a strong, healthy and lasting marriage.  The link below is a new 2 minute video highlighting our “Fortified” military marriage conference.  The young military couple featured at the end of the video were getting a divorce and had lost all hope.  They attended our Louisville, KY marriage conference in April of this year.  Their “issues” became so severe that the soldier had even attempted suicide but fortunately the gun misfired. Now notice the joy in his eyes after his wife reaches over to kiss him and announces she is coming home.

CW is conducting the fourth installment of its “Fortified” military marriage conference September 22-23 in Ft. Wayne, Indiana.  CW is also making plans to go to Georgia in the spring of 2013.  I have a month and a half to raise $4,000 in scholarships so that 25 military couples will be able to attend the Ft. Wayne conference.  Would you please consider making a tax deductible contribution to Centurion’s Watch to help change the lives of our fellow citizen soldiers and their families?  To sponsor one couple to attend a “Fortified” military marriage conference is $200.
